Yes I know there is a thread already, no I don't care. Quoted directly from Ian's "Clear Skies" Facebook page
"If it renders ok overnight, I'll be uploading to eve-files via FTP on sunday. Then the mighty Chribba will splice the mainbraces and batten down the hatches (i.e. mirror and seed it and get bandwidth in place), and then I make the post on here and the Eve forums ;) So hopefully, tomorrow :D"
I've died and gone to heaven.

And that pretty much sums up how I feel about the Clear Skys shorts. Granted it is a nice effort but the story is acceptable at best and the dialog is pretty terrible. The only thing more sad is how he is spending all that time and winding up with a product that is overall sub par.
Perhaps if he took the idea of Clear Sky and presented it to some people who actually know what they are doing, we won't feel like we just wasted time out of our lives.
Tell you what, you muppet, you have a go at it and we'll all be more than happy to see how well you do.
You know, I might not agree with his opinion but it IS possible for someone to not like "Clear Skies" without it being a crime. And please, the idea that "if you can't do better you can't criticize" is juvenile and ludicris.
Originally by: Jennifer Starling It's the greatest fanvid I've seen thus far, way more entertaining than CCP's short trailers. But I guess you just don't get the humour that makes the story so entertaining.
Whilst I agree that, visually and technically, this is quite the achievement, the humour isn't exactly high-brow (basically, it's one step above fart jokes and knock-knock jokes).
As someone who has dabbled in machinima, my hat is most definitely off to John but please, can we keep the adulation and hero worship at a reasonable level?
While I have no issues with people NOT liking Clear Skies, if the poster only wanted to say he didn't like it, then that's all he had to say. He was however clearly trolling as evidenced by the actual content of his post. He is stating that Clear Skies is sub par as a fact, not an opinion or it would have been prefaced by "in my opinion".
He then also decides he speaks for everyone by stating
Originally by: Better Than You we won't feel like we just wasted time out of our lives.
Trolling or just plain arrogant, hardly just stating an opinion. And given the fact that this is clearly a thread for fans of clear skies, posting uneducated opinion as fact and then claiming to speak for everyone only serves to make him appear even more of an ass.
A troll does not deserve anything more than what Lauren said to him.

i thought it was a clever commentary about how america didnt steal an entire nation off its indigineous people but i may have been overanalysing it
Yeah I think you might have looked a little too deeply, and spoken out of your ass. Lets leave politics etc out of here ok?
